Mary’s Monday Musings to Quilt Encouragement

Pleasant People

The lady in the restaurant across the way dined alone. Pretty in pink, the woman’s appearance was striking because of the pleasant expression on her face. Between bites, she wore a smile, and her eyes twinkled as she glanced around the eatery. Her wait person stopped by to hug her when she finished, and the hostess stopped by to collect another hug. Our meal was more enjoyable just because she was within our view.

What makes a person so pleasant? She ate alone, but her face didn’t reveal the least problem with her solitude. Without a word, her demeanor blessed us, and our dinner was more pleasing. What a good example for us. How often does our facial expression influence those around us without our awareness? We can ask God to be with us as we go about our day, and perhaps those we encounter will find a blessing in our countenance. A smile is a beautiful adornment for our face. Let’s wear one often.
