Good Friends

Suddenly a flurry of dings on my phone signaled incoming texts containing an urgent need for prayer support from a friend which led to immediate prayer responses from a group of people who care about one another with all their hearts.  As well as expressing support, sometimes the group text dings the arrival of a joke or a cartoon that brings an uplifting chuckle to every person addressed. The ability to reach one another in seconds and draw a group of friends into an instant, caring community of sharing concerns or chuckles is one blessing of modern-day communication. Think back to when stagecoaches carried mail out West with uncertainty of when the letter with its information would arrive, or uncertainty if it ever would. What a blessing our modern world with texts and phones provides to broaden our prayer chain in times of need as well as increase the number of people whose caring can instantly lift our spirits.

We have always had the timeless blessing of reaching our God with our needs and concerns regardless of the communication methods society provides. Our Heavenly Father is instantly available to hear us tell Him of our needs. Even when our faith feels weak, our God hears the cries of our hearts. If or when there are times when we struggle to believe that He hears and cares, we can ask Him to increase our faith and enlarge our ability to rest reassured He hears and unleashes whatever process He knows our situation most needs. God, reassure your people of your vast love and power.
