Hospitals
An unplanned, unexpected need for a hospital far from home demonstrated what wonderful blessings our country has scattered around our nation. A well-functioning medical team can bring doctors, nurses, technicians, and janitors together to reassure, to discern, to diagnose and remedy what is awry and safely send off a patient to their miles away home to follow through. A well-run hospital functions to provide relief and solutions for those in need. Care combined with kindness and medical expertise is a blessing we shouldn’t take for granted. We are blessed in the United States to have many good hospitals full of people who truly care about each individual who comes through the doors seeking help.
We can quickly appreciate the skills and challenges of the doctors, nurses, and hospital staffs in our communities. Besides thanking each individual who we encounter who works in a hospital, we can bless them by lifting them up to God in prayer. We can pray for God to help each staff person to know how to comfort those who hurt, to quiet the fears sickness fosters, to make well-informed decisions for patients. Those qualities plus many others which God shows you are qualities that bless the patients. Without anyone knowing it, a person’s prayerful presence in a hospital can invite God’s presence, healing, and peace into what otherwise might be a fearsome experience.
