Mushroom Rings
It is always surprising to suddenly discover a ring of mushrooms where there was only grass a few hours ago. In our five years living here, there were never any mushrooms in this area until this week when this one sprouted up. A goggle search said they can appear in an area that was seeded in a drought then followed by a lot of moisture. These big, puffy, pretty mushrooms did suddenly appear after a dry spell followed by lots of rain for a couple of days. Some call them fairy rings, probably because of their sudden and unexpected appearance. These were especially attractive and made me think. Sometimes our lives go through a time of drought, dry unproductive days in one way or another. Can we expect a sudden burst of moisture, be it rain or tears to bring an unexpected interest, activity, beauty or growth in what for a time felt like 👍🏻 hum-drum lives? Perhaps. Our lives here on earth sometimes seem to cycle back and forth between dry and rainy spells. It never hurts and is always helpful to invite God into our days, whether they seem too dry or too moist. He can bring us unexpected blessings out of any of those dry or ordinary situations where we sometimes find ourselves. Recognize that God is the source of our blessings and include Him in our responses to both the rain and the droughts in our lives. Then ask Him to help us recognize Him when He brings unexpected blessings into our lives.
