Puppy Appeal

Mary’s Monday Musings to Quilt Encouragement
Puppy Appeal

Nothing matches the sight of fourteen puppies to put a grin on your face. Between the furry creatures crawling over one another and their happy, wagging tails one is seized by the desire to pick up several for a big cuddle. There is something heart catching about the trusting friendliness of a litter of puppies. No one is a stranger. The best result of all is the amazing head start puppies get when their breeder understands teaching them puppy culture from the beginning of their lives. The cute little balls of fur are acclimated to being held in different positions. When receiving their first solid food by walking inside a doggy crate, they learn to associate the crate with good things. Before they receive puppy chow, they learn to make eye contact with their feeder which teaches them to calm themselves. They become accustomed to being held by children and to find enjoyment in people. These well loved and well cared for puppies make wonderful family pets that bring delight.

We can transfer some of the principles from puppy culture training to relationships between people. Learning to adapt when in different positions and different postures in new situations which require adjusting skills. We can ask God to help us make eye contact when talking which will make others feel more comfortable. We can ask God to teach us how to calm ourselves in all sorts of different situations and to help us enjoy other people and make them happy to be with us.
