Mary’s Monday Musings to Quilt Encouragement

The pretty gal pranced out on stage in a lovely outfit albeit a little bulky. When she stepped into a hoop and her partner pulled it as well as the attached cloth tube over her head, the tube jiggled a time or two and she emerged in a different glamorous outfit. I figured she slipped out of first one to a second one worn underneath. But when she continued to go from one hoop to another and emerge in yet another skimpy, gorgeous costume which was sometimes longer than the  previous get up, I marveled with the rest of the audience at how the team achieved such a dramatic change in only seconds. Five or six times the lady dazzled us with different skin tight outfits. I have no idea what her secret was to changing clothes so quickly.

 

I do know the Jesus can change us. Sometimes we see rapid changes in ourselves and others. Sometimes change take longer, but his power is instantly available to us. We don’t have to wait to call on him to change us. The moment our heart, mind or mouth call out to Him he is near to hear. James 4:8a tells us. ‘Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you.’ What comforting words. He understands the mysteries of our lives and knows how to change us in the midst of our difficulties.
