Reunions
Hugs abounded. It felt so good to be within touching distance again. Squeals rang through the house at the delight of seeing people after long separations. Non-stop conversation helped catch up after long absences.
Seeing family or friends we haven’t seen in a long time brings a special depth of joy. God can use a reunion to mesh hearts tightly together. He can use reunions to make precious memories. The appreciation of family and friends fills our hearts with a happiness that surpasses the best sightseeing vacation. Even the best of vacations doesn’t compare to the blessing of being with the people God planted in our lives. When a person is born, God endows each one with a spirit which sets them apart, giving them value that makes them special. Whether or not a person ever comes to recognize God’s role in their creation or His interest in each life, He loves them anyway. When a family comes together for a reunion, we have the joy and privilege of enjoying each unique personality in a gathering which allows us more togetherness than normal.
In our busy society combined with long miles between family and friends, the privilege of face-to-face togetherness cements everlasting sharing of love. That love demonstrates the power of God to create love beyond the norm of our daily existence and beyond the frailties of our personalities. Thank you, God, for that supernatural love You provide among us. Help us remain open to allow You to spread Your supernatural love among us humans.
