Spring Blooms

Mary’s Monday Musings to Quilt Encouragement
Spring Blooms

A recent day-long drive to attend a wedding was filled with many gorgeous spring blossoms. All along the way, blooms decorated the roadside. The cities and towns we passed through were filled with rows and rows of trees covered with beautiful white blossoms. The countryside displayed an array of pink, lavender and white flowers on shrubs, trees and vines. The wedding brought much joy and demonstrated a lot of love, Ah, spring and young love. What a beautiful, hope fills time of the year. Lovely flowers, the emerging of fresh light green leaves picks up one’s spirit. Add those morale builders to the arrival of Easter, and our joy level soars. Cute bunnies, yummy candy, egg hunts add to the fun, as does the evidence of wedded love, but the biggest morale builder, is the result of the real meaning of Easter. Easter brings a joy that far exceeds all the beauty and fun of the season.

Easter presents a paradox. The grim, brutal, cruel act of crucifixion which makes us cringe, cry, and recoil, ends up making us glad and thankful. Jesus’ undeserved death on the cross demonstrates in an emphatic way, the amazing, magnificent, and incalculable love of God for humans. The concept of eternal life beyond the veil of death boggles our minds. The prospect of moving past the problems and despairs of life on this earth into the presence of God brings a gladness and joy beyond compare. As we enjoy the cute bunnies, the pretty flowers, and the sweet candy, lets open our hearts to a deeper revelation of God’s love which is beyond compare.
