Those Who Went before Us

Mary’s Monday Musings to Quilt Encouragement
Those Who Went before Us

Our visit to a Naval Museum set our thinking going. So many people who lived in the United States of America from its earliest beginning to the present day have served our country well to get it established and later to enable it to remain. We don’t even know the names of a vast number of these people, but some special ones who contributed to our freedoms and privileges of today are hailed and honored in various museums across our land. Risks taken, battles fought, sacrifices made. and carefully crafted and respected laws are the foundation of every society where people thrive. Since humans aren’t perfect, no community composed of humans will be either. Ideas of what a society should be are varied and have been from when mankind began.

BUT here in our land, here where we live day by day, we have the freedoms that include the privilege to pray. For that great blessing we are thankful. We have the honor to seek God to bless our land, to heal the places where thinking has become warped, to expose the places where human corruption wins, and to mold our thinking to conform to His standards. Love of God is the foundation of fairness, honesty, and loving communities. Prayer is the privilege and a calling for those who love this nation.
