Baby Babblings

            The giggle of the 7 weeks old baby girl brought a smile to everyone in ear shot of the sound. She continued to command our attention with a burst of baby babbling. Not a sound translated into an English word, but we hung onto her babble as if it was a weighty homily and answered as if we understood every syllable. We did understand that she was enjoying the audience gathered around her, and she was telling us so in her baby way. We grinned in the awareness that these first babblings formed the foundation of her ability to later communicate with us in understandable words.

 

I think God is pleased when we talk with Him. Perhaps our conversations are as elementary as a baby’s babble, but he enjoys our attempts to communicate, and He knows that the more we talk with Him the better we will develop our ability to connect with Him. He smiles over each one of  His creations and wants a relationship with us. Let’s talk to our God. He loves the sound of our voices.
