Anticipation
Mary’s Monday Musings to Quilt Encouragement
Anticipation
Isn’t it a blessing to look forward to something special? The very thought brings a smile to our face, a leap of excitement to our being, and sparkle to our eyes. It can be as simple as an anticipated dinner, or time to chat with a friend, or a delightful outing. But nothing quite compares to the thought of the arrival of much beloved, seldom seen company. That great expectation has danced from the background of our thoughts to the excited foreground of our plans these past months. Now the anticipation has become the reality of the promise. Family has gathered from far flung places to rejoice in good fellowship with one another.
Excited greetings at the airport, wide smiles, lots of hugs, and snaping pictures to store precious memories Face-to-face experiences heighten relationships with shared experiences. Breaking bread together, tumbling in ocean waves, shrieks of shared delight among the youngsters, long, lazy conversations all bring happiness. The joy of seeing loved ones after an absence seems like a little foretaste of heaven. God, thank you for every time we are privileged to share face to face with loved ones. Thank you for using those times to cement relationships for all time.
