Black Mold

Black Mold
Several families in our acquaintance have had to deal with the grim situation of black mold in their house. The consequences were dire. One family’s house was demolished and all that was left was a 12 ft deep hole in the ground. The house was destroyed, lumber and all and then the dirt under it was carted away to be buried in some other location. The family had to start over. The most recent situation confiscated nearly all the families clothing and toys and the owners are waiting for a decision about what can be done, if anything, for the house. Several of these situations were discovered because someone in the household had developed some serious physical conditions. The search for a reason led to unsuspected black mold. This mold is a critical problem with dire consequences.
These horrific examples set me wondering if sometimes we entertain thinking patterns that are as unhealthy and hidden as black mold. Do we allow behavior patterns to grow in our personalities that cause unfortunate consequences and cling to us as badly as black mold clings to house walls? God, please make us aware of thinking or behavior that is destructive to our welfare. Help us seek Your help to destroy any negative patterns we haven’t previously been aware of and give us the means to establish healthy thinking and behavior.
God, help us focus on you so that as our hours, days, and weeks go by we absorb your thoughts, desires and ways until they surface in our lives and character, making us able to eliminate whatever is not of your spirit and release what reflects you.
