Mary’s Monday Musings to Quilt Encouragement
Celebrations

The arrival of a fabulous flower arrangement surprised us. The delight of a nice dinner we shared with treasured family blessed us. The fun of playing a new game made us laugh. A clever and wholesome red box movie left a good feeling. Altogether, we enjoyed a well celebrated wedding anniversary. We were quite privileged to celebrate a wedding anniversary. Any wedding anniversary is worthy of celebration. Despite the trends in our current society, we can rejoice with our friends and family whenever they accomplish another year of marriage. Each year represents triumphs of forgiveness, of putting the other person first, and not making mountains out of molehills. And, of course, staying alive is essential to stacking up the years together.

We can be thankful for peace in our nation that allows the luxury of time and opportunity to celebrate special events. All of us can be thankful for awakening in the morning and for the satisfaction of marking the landmarks of our lives, be they birthdays, successes, anniversaries, or any triumph small or large. How privileged we are when we can celebrate the milestones of friends and family as well. God, help us be alert to the opportunities to share in the milestones of others and participate in their joy or sorrows. Help us expand our portion of joy by contributing to other people’s delights.
