Christmas Carols
Each Christmas Carol we sing has a story about its origin, about its meaning. Each time we sing our favorites, our spirits soar and our hearts rejoice in the amazing, wondrous, earth changing event of the birth of Jesus Christ. If you have been blessed with a glimpse of the power of our Savior, the interest He takes in us, little ole us in our ordinary lives, then you have experienced the joy of this season of the year. This season beckons us to take time out to honor our Lord and Savior. This time of the year calls Christendom to remember His humble earthly beginning, taking the form of flesh, a helpless infant. Christmas is a time to rejoice in His amazing love, His undying faithfulness to us, the limitless provision from the hand of God to our earth despite the troubling conditions around us.
When we lift our voices to sing the timeless, beloved old carols, belt them out with enthusiasm. He will bless our participation with a renewal of joy, faith, and wonder in our God. Join your voices with the carols on the radio and television. Sing at church gatherings. Provide gusto to every note at home as you go about your duties. Join your friends and neighbors to sing them with zeal. We always profit in our moods and our emotions when we worship God. Regardless of how we feel, despite how poorly we sing, God uses the time we sing to Him to lift our mood, whether we are by ourselves or in a group. Try it. You’ll like it.
