Mary’s Monday Musings to Quilt Encouragement
Cloudy View

The ribbon of clouds ran a heavy stripe across the middle of the mountain. From our vantage point at a distance from the mountain, we could see that the top of the mountain and the lower level of the mountain were completely clear. The entire mountain wasn’t covered, only the area of that narrow ribbon. If you were living there, you wouldn’t realize the areas above you and below you were clear and sunny. All you would know was that you were in a cloud of rain. From your perspective, you wouldn’t realize that the rain was temporary and better weather could arrive soon from above or below.

How often does that description match us when a trial tests our faith? We are miserable under the cloud that rains on our lives and can’t see the clear atmosphere that lies just beyond the storm. If the situation is scary or emotional it can feel as if this situation will last forever. We can find it difficult to trust God to see us through to a fairer situation when we are in the middle of a storm. No matter how difficult the problem, we can ask God to uphold us until the clouds of doubt disperse, and we can see the Son light of God providing a beneficial approach to our problem.
