Mary’s Monday Musings to Quilt Encouragement
Food for Thought
The boy had some serious diet restrictions. The consequences of mistakenly ingesting those prohibited foods, resulted in dangerous breathing difficulties, but he wanted to go camping with the other fellows. When Dad’s job allowed him to be home, he gladly accompanied him and made certain he didn’t eat anything harmful to him. The trouble was many camp outs were held when Dad’s job took him away from home. Straightening her shoulders and taking a deep breath, his mother went the extra mile to keep the child active in his organization. She went on the camp outs. She slept in her own pup tent, checked her son’s meals, and packed an ample supply of disinfectant wipes for the necessity of sharing the only Port-a-potty at the camp site.
Her reward? Her little boy grew into a well-adjusted young man who relates well to his peers and learned his necessary life-preserving skills.
Sacrifice is a necessary part of successful parenting. God knows about sacrifice. He cared so much about our ultimate destination, that he sent His only Son to earth in the form of man to suffer and die for us so that we might live eternally with God. He cares about our lives here on earth, and He wants fellowship with us for all eternity. He made the ultimate sacrifice for us. We can’t thank Him enough.
Mary, I found this article very encouraging. Do you mind if I shared it on FB so that all my FB friends could also benefit from it. Please let me know if I could.
Thank you so much, Lyla
