Foot Bone’s Connected to the Leg Bone
A recent medical procedure for my husband sent me on a fun project of giving thanks for all the systems in the human body which work most of the time without our even thinking about it. Sometimes it takes a little hitch to make us consider how marvelous the human body is to work minute after minute, day after day, and year after year as the Lord designed it. This exercise in gratitude enlarges our thankfulness and causes smiles as we tick off the way God made our amazing bodies. Our appreciation of our creator grows when we don’t take His design for granted. Shower time is a good time to do this exercise every once in a while. Start at your head and thank the Lord for all the cells that function in your brain. You can break them down according to area and function if you happen to know it. Proceed down to your ears, then your eyes, your sinuses, nostrils and your mouth, including the tongue and teeth. You get the point. Proceed to thank the Lord for every system of your body and the gift of its proper function. If one area isn’t working perfectly, ask for God to touch it and proceed onward. By the time you reach your toe nails, you will be smiling at the goodness of God who made us regardless of whatever problems we have. As the scripture says in Psalm 139:14, “I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are Thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.”
