Mary’s Monday Musings to Quilt Encouragement
Horse Rides
Big, wide smiles were everywhere I looked. From the moment the trailer arrived at the birthday party and gentle, attractive horses walked down the ramp, smiles ruled the day. Even the adults were grinning when more animals followed, animals to pet such as a llama, donkey, goat, and a piggy. The children loved riding the horses which seemed to enjoy their slow walk around the lawn, carrying one child after another on their backs. The well cared for animals enjoyed munching on the grass as well as the gentle petting from adult-supervised kids. Watching the teen, who helped the owner bringing the animals to the party and taking care of them, gave us as much fun as the animals themselves. This young person was obviously fond of his four-legged companions, and he made the younger children feel safe even if this was their first ride. All in all, the day was a lovely experience for the children and a delightful one for us observers. The commendable, careful, and thoughtfully run business spread a lot of joy that day. What a privilege to see people earning money from a business that brought so much fun and happiness.
Do you think God gets as much pleasure from watching us when we are pursuing our means of earning money or taking time for our recreational opportunities? Isn’t that an intriguing thought? I believe He enjoys the sight of us doing a good job at our work! Imagine Him enjoying watching our wide, broad smiles when enjoying an activity. Can we find a way to enjoy our means of earning a living as well? Can we allow God into our times of recreation by taking a moment to thank Him for them as we go about our day? God, help us include You in every part of our plans, our decisions, and our thoughts and words all day long.
