Ice Cream Cones
While Ice Cream Cones are delicious, they are a guaranteed mess in the hands of a small child. The bathtub or an outdoor hose offers the best answer but are not usually immediately available unless the cone is made and consumed at home. Never-the-less the expression on a child’s face is worth the clean-up that is sure to follow. Even adults have trouble avoiding sticky hands at the barest minimum. A dob of ice cream inevitably drips on clean clothes and often clings to noses and chins to quickly melt and spread everywhere. But isn’t an ice cream cone delicious and worth the mess? Thankfully, we can usually banish the mess with a little or a lot of work.
Sometimes we choose an activity that almost guarantees a messy consequence that is much more serious than ice cream on our clothes or sticky hands. Some human’s activities leave messes that can’t be easily cleaned up, cancelled, or changed. But God supplied His precious Son, Jesus Christ, to reveal His immense love to us and enable us to be completed cleaned up from the drips of our mistakes, to be changed from the whatever leaves us sticky and in a mess. We thank God for His love and readily available provision of forgiveness in our lives. All that’s required is that we believe and ask.
