Leap of Faith
Mary’s Monday Musings to Quilt Encouragement
Leap of Faith
An athletic girl leaped from the boat and sprinted up the pier. She plunked mail in the box, grabbed the outgoing letters, and raced back in time to hurdle onto the mail boat before it puttered past along the lake’s coast line at ten miles per hour—without stops. The mail boat has operated around Lake Geneva, Wisconsin for one hundred years this summer. To prove they are nimble enough for the task, agile people perform try-outs for the unusual mail delivery job.
We don’t have to prove anything to anyone to take the leap of faith required to believe in God. Neither athletic ability nor agile thinking is required. We simply tell God we choose to believe Him. We don’t lose our position because we fall into the water of doubt from time to time. It’s simple. We mentally haul ourselves back to God and ask Him to bolster our faith, and we once again enjoy the delight of motoring through life with God driving our life boat.
