Legacy of Honor
Mary’s Monday Musings to Quilt Encouragement
Legacy of Honor
In my grandparent’s day, a hand shake was adequate to commit oneself to an obligation. A man’s word was something worthy of protecting. They valued honesty. A family letter surfaced revealing a generous gift of money. Although the relationship was to an in-law distantly related, one older family member paid for a younger person to finance a semester of college. No one knew of the transaction. The gift was given, trusting that the investment was well spent. The transaction was accomplished via a personal letter. The recipient used the money to complete college. Integrity attached to a person’s name still is worthy of protecting.
When we become a believer in Jesus Christ, our name is linked with our Savior. His reputation is on the line with how we handle our finances, how considerate we are of others, and how we speak of others. We are a walking bill board for our God. A good prayer to start our day is to ask for His help to conduct ourselves in an honorable manner as we go about the day’s activities. Dear God, help us reflect well on Your character and leave a legacy of honor.
