Moving
Mary’s Monday Musings to Quilt Encouragement
Moving
The worship song said it all. “In You is all I need.” Even in the throes of moving from one abode to another, Jesus can make evident His care about our lives. After living in one house for 55 years, the idea of emptying it in 6-8 weeks loomed as a daunting task, but with family pitching in to help, we are ready for the movers to arrive tomorrow morning. In spite of the quantity of belongings accumulated, we sorted, tossed out, gave away, packed and passed down nearly everything, almost every scrap of paper is packed up ready for the movers to arrive. The song declared, “God is so good.” He doesn’t have to please me for that statement to be true, but if we think about it, he often does. The song declares, “You’re my breath, my life, my everything.” Indeed, it is safe to throw ourselves on the love of our good, good God who loves with perfect love. Not every move goes smoothly from beginning to end. Not every problem is resolved without struggles. Not every situation pleases me, but my perspective is limited, not as all-encompassing as God’s perspective. He plans for eons upon eons. I’m limited to a lifetime. There is such peace and sometimes unlikely accomplishments when we can see the goodness of God and trust in Him. I think He likes to sprinkle our lives with evidences of his love and caring for us.
