Old Love
Mary’s Monday Musings to Quilt Encouragement
Old Love
There is a special tenderness in the love of a couple, still alive and in love after decades piled upon decades. The touch of two hands, the exchange of a smile, a head resting against a shoulder all silently speak of a depth beyond the outward action. The collective years of trusting, forgiving, and focusing on the good brings a reward precious to experience and for younger people to observe. Watch closely, and we can see the benefits to people established in the habit of preferring the desires, likes and interests of the other which underpins their days of actions and decisions.
These attitudes, which God helps us achieve, enrich the days when muscles are not as strong as they once were, the brain isn’t as quick as long ago, and every moment is slower than before. God help us use the days of our youth and the time of our middle years to develop the qualities which will enhance our lives in our old age. God bring us a joy and a sense of gratitude beyond our imagination as we grow in You day by day.
