Mary’s Monday Musings to Quilt Encouragement
Online Help
There is a vast group of helpful people out there who earn their living patiently shepherding people like me through the mysteries of online shopping. Here’s to the extreme patience of these beleaguered souls who withhold a groan when they are so unfortunate to pick up their phone and find me or someone like me on their line. In-spite of how they really feel, they must try to help us master the world of computers, the internet, and its vast mysteries without seeing our screen. The system seems so logical, so easy to use to the vast majority of you out there who only require a few moments to complete all sorts of complicated orders online. Perhaps there are a few of you who belong to my pathetic club of those who require breathtaking patience and the forbearance of a saint to ultimately show me the route to complete my order. This unseen someone has mastered the skill of never allowing the tiniest hint of impatience into his or her voice. On my end, I’m thankful I remain an unseen, if perhaps somewhat frustrated, voice on the phone. I’m glad I’m an anonymous ignoramus in desperate need of someone’s amazing ability to untangle the maze I’m entangled in of online ordering.
While these helpful, beleaguered souls may be expert at hiding their actual reaction to our computer ignorance, they nevertheless give us a tiny, little glimpse into the nature of God. Although God doesn’t put on an act when we are messing up, we don’t rattle our God. We don’t diminish His love for us when we fail to comprehend His way, when we misunderstand His Guidance or are unable to rest in His love. His love for us, each of His creations, is a great blessing beyond what we fully grasp. It is beyond our limited comprehension. Instead of striving to understand all the ways of our God, we can simply relax in His amazing love and lean on His goodness to guide us through the maze of life on earth with all its incomprehensible questions. We won’t totally understand until we step beyond the veil into His actual heavenly presence. When befuddled and frustrated here below, the most important move we can make is to call on God. He handles our frustrations, our ignorance. He leads us step by step into the ability to bask in His marvelous, never ending, never diminished love. He shows us the way, the steps to follow until we finally step beyond this life and its limitations into His arms of love.
