Our Freedom
Mary’s Monday Musings to Quilt Encouragement
Our Freedom
The trumpets blow taps, and my heart squeezes with emotion. My eyes water at the testimonies about brave soldiers, who gave their all. Memorial day. The day we remember the men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country. My heart swells with appreciation for those who went before me to secure my liberty in this land. Are we ensuring the next generations understand the price freedom requires? Are we teaching the importance of living in a free land? When we read or listen to the news, we can wonder if we are passing our appreciation down.
I cherish the freedom to worship God. I’m so grateful I can pray when I please. I’m thankful I am able to gather with like minded people to worship God out loud. I can talk about my wonderful Savior without fear of retaliation in this country of mine. Let’s remember to thank God for these privileges. Let’s be faithful to pray for the mercy of God to help us maintain this atmosphere that allows us to adhere to our faith. Let’s ask God to protect and preserve our freedom to worship Him.
