Panda Bears
Mary’s Monday Musings to Quilt Encouragement
Panda Bears
The Panda bears who live in the National Zoo looked exactly like the ones pictured in the National Geographic Magazine, but I didn’t expect them to climb so high into the trees in search of tender shoots of greenery to nibble. Two bears swayed on tree branches easily three stories high. They looked like an illustration from a children’s book. As the day heated up, the bears were ushered into their climate controlled dens amply stocked with bamboo which they devoured. They looked as loveable and huggable as a stuffed animal in a store, but are large enough to demand respect even if they are basically docile, solitary creatures except when they are raising cubs.
When God made these charming animals with their black patches on body and eyes, I’ll wager He knew we humans would find them intriguing. Does it make you smile to consider how much pleasure God took in creating a world that would amaze and delight us? The world He made is full of surprises and pleasures. I think He is as delighted with His human creations as we are with Panda Bears. Thank you, God for the wonderful world you made for us to inhabit. What evidence of Your love for us.
