Resurrection
Mary’s Monday Musings to Quilt Encouragement
Resurrection
Look what happened to this leaning, tangled tree I posted two weeks ago. It still leans, but tiny buds burst into leaves bringing evidence it is alive. The tree appears more attractive now that leaves conceal the tangled branches. Although it still leans, the tree offers welcome shade to anyone standing nearby and a home for birds to nest in this summer. With leaves gracing its limbs, the tree exchanged its pathetic appearance to one that fulfills a purpose.
- Our lives can be like that. Where we feel our lives are bent or tangled, God offers us a spring-like resurrection for the barren places in our lives. Talk to God about the areas in our soul, or in our thinking, or in our hopes and dreams that need a resurrection from pathetic to purposeful. He can shine His light of revelation on us, and water the soil of our thinking to bring forth leaves of solutions that make us useful to the world where we live. We can ask Him for the sunshine of His presence in our hearts to bring forth new energy, new ideas, new approaches. He will water the roots of our existence to burst forth with ways to offer shade to others and a refuge from the trials of this world.
