Rock, Paper, Scissors
Mary’s Monday Musings to Quilt Encouragement
Rock, Paper, Scissors
Another train came alongside us on a second track. Our speeds were the same which allowed one of the cars to proceed slowly next to ours. We waved and enjoyed seeing each other as our two cars slowly moved down the train track side by side. One of the employees on the other train met the eyes of a passenger on our train and initiated the game of rock, paper, scissors to the amusement of everyone in both cars. With arms raised to make their motions readily visible, the game continued with victory back and forth until finally the passenger managed a final victory. We all clapped for the winner in our car, and our train pulled ahead, leaving the other train behind, with the passengers in both smiling from the fun of the unexpected and spontaneous interaction.
Jesus had fun when he lived on this earth. He went to weddings. He had meals with his friends and disciples. He enjoyed traveling with disciples and enjoyed children. God enjoys the moments when we have a good time just like the observers of the rock paper scissors game enjoyed the friendly interchange on the train. Smiling is good for our emotional wellbeing. We can be on the lookout for appropriate opportunities to lighten people’s spirits with good laughs and wholesome fun.
