Spring Blossoms
The appearance of Azaleas in the spring brings its own special delight. Their colorful brilliance cheers the soul and means spring is firmly established. When several bushes are together the mass of flowers make us glad. The contrast with a winter of snow or gray skies brightens our outlook.
How lovely that the appearance of early spring flowers, like Crocus, Forsythia or Azaleas coincides with the celebration of Easter and the life changing resurrection of Jesus. While the appearance of these first flowers encourages us, that new life is coming after the cold of winter, the celebration of Easter encourages us that the miracle of His resurrection brings a newness of life to those who grasp the magnitude of God’s amazing love and uplifts us far beyond any earthly display of fresh new flowers. The appearance of blossoms after a frozen earth, the laughter of a baby, the gladness of a wedding, the greeting of a friend brings great delight. But nothing on this earth brings the same magnitude of amazing joy as the realization that we are able to participate in the a new birth just as nature does when spring burst forth with blossoms and tender new leaf buds, we realize that ultimately we, who receive Jesus as our savoir, will burst forth from death into eternal life. And, dear ones, until that day we can burst forth out of the difficulties of this world. We can enter into the overcoming mercies of God whenever we need His resurrection power to help us as we still walk this earth. Let’s remember the delight of Easter all year whenever we are able to see the evidences of new life around us. Rest assured the resurrection of joy, fresh attitudes, and hope is available from our loving father.
