Mary’s Monday Musings to Quilt Encouragement
Talents
The attractive centerpiece of intricately decorated cupcakes reflected the beautiful, intertwined relationships of the ladies celebrating a beloved friend’s birthday. Love, laughter, prayer, and sharing stories made for a perfect birthday celebration. How privileged to be a part of such a loving group of caring people. The love of friends brings strength to our lives. The beautiful cupcakes made with artistic skill were the perfect ending for our gathering. Everyone praised their beauty as well as their taste. I’m pretty sure the artist who decorated our cupcakes had no idea how much her talent added to our pleasant enjoyment.
The privilege of impacting others because we use our skills, whatever they may be, gives us the honor to offer pleasure however we use our skills and talents. A cooked meal nourishes someone’s body and contributes to their health. Changing a tire enables someone to reach their destination. The skill of sewing contributes to someone’s wardrobe. The charm of a homemade quilt warms the soul as well as the body. There is no skill, talent, or ability that is above the other. They each meet various needs in our lives. Whatever we offer that helps another by meeting a need be it physical, emotional, or spiritual, is important in the eyes of God. Whether we hear it or not, the sound of “well done” must ring out somewhere in Heaven.
