The polka dot teapots charmed us even before we poured the flavorful teas into our glasses cradled in a delicate silver sleeve complete with a handle. Three tiny fluted bowls allowed us to sample three delightful choices of soups. By the time we progressed to the assortment of open-faced sandwiches and a savory cabbage casserole, our taste buds were delighted. The finale of deilicious sweets charmed our eyes and satisfied our stomachs winding up a lovely afternoon treat.  What is there about a tea party that delights women and provides a lovely afternoon?

 

 

Part of the appeal lies in a pretty setting and beautiful things. More important are the companions around the table. A tea party offers an afternoon to relax from responsibilities and enjoy the company of pleasant friends which goes well beyond the setting and the food and beverage.  The opportunity to attend a tea party is a special treat, but we can learn to find even more pleasure from time spent in a prayer time with other believers. When we join with other people who desire to communicate with our Lord, we find an emotional connection that satisfies our souls. The beauty of realizing God cares about what is concerns our hearts fills us with delight. The companionship of bringing concerns to our almighty Maker leaves a good taste in our hearts. Joining a prayer group enriches our lives.  Ask God to lead you to a good prayer group.
