Thank You
Mary’s Monday Musings to Quilt Encouragement
Thank You
The thank you note made me catch my breath with delight. In a few lines, my friend thanked me for a gift, told me a quality she appreciated in my life, and encouraged me that God is interested in my life. All that for a forty-nine cent stamp. A real bargain, don’t you think?
The note brought long lasting pleasure because I could pick it up and read it again and again, capturing it’s encouragement anew each time. Doesn’t everyone need the reassurance of knowing someone is glad we exist? I don’t think I’m alone in finding comfort when I discover a bit of evidence that my life has mattered to another person. E-mailed notes of appreciation accomplish the same uplift, and I’m so grateful when someone takes the time to communicate with me. Somehow, I don’t find myself going back to them over and over probably because the computer challenges my organizational skills—as well as a host of other abilities.
Fire up the computer, or pick up a pen and jot down a few lines of encouragement to someone today. Maybe you’ll discover you’ve been a messenger of God to sow seeds of encouragement in someone’s heart. Is there anything more gratifying than that? Try it and see.
