The Perfect Beach

The Perfect Beach

The waves were gentle, the sand white. The row of rocks not far off shore provided shelter for beautiful fish of many colors. The setting was a protected environment that didn’t involve learning deep diving scuba qualifications. The young men in our party enjoyed discovering beautiful sea creatures in water that wasn’t over their heads.

They saw some gorgeous, colorful fish from very small to bigger than they thought would live among those rocks. Those fish were a teeny tiny representation of the vast variety of fish that live in the water of this earth. Some sources think there are 27,000-28,000 bony fish in the oceans, but there are many, many more that make their homes in the earth’s waters that have never been seen or identified by mankind so those numbers are likely only a small percentage of the ocean fish. My mouth hangs open in wonder.

Just think. Fish are only one species on this earth. God is so much more than our human minds can fully grasp. Just as we gasp at beautiful colorful fish, our hearts swell in wonder at the creator of this amazing earth. We stand in awe. Considering God’s astounding creation as we wind up our Thanksgiving weekend, we may well fall on our knees in worship of our astounding God. May we pour out our love and wonder to Him who saw fit to create you, me, us in the midst of His creative works.
