Warmth

The internet is full of charming scenes that warm our hearts and even bring a tear to the eye. In just a few minutes, I watched the scenes of soldiers returning to surprise wives and children, charming puppies waiting for owners to say grace before they dive into their food dishes, and beguiling toddlers hugging one another over and over. Real feel-good scenes that satisfy our soul. But in real life, such emotionally satisfying moments sometimes seem to be few and far apart.

 

When we find ourselves in a season which offers scarce feel-good times there is a remedy. We can determine to place our focus on becoming the initiator of such “aww” moments rather than the recipient. Blessing others always brings a good return. Even when there is no response to give evidence that our blessing was perceived, sometimes blessing reciprocates in a coin only apparent in Heaven. We don’t always know when we are imparting warmth to someone. God help us to spread Heavenly cheer to others even while we’re grounded on this spinning planet.
