When?

When did something happen? When did we meet a particular person? When will we be allowed to do something? When is our next appointment? The answer to ‘When’ questions helps us organize our lives, understand things, and make decisions.

 

When we recognize the Divinity of Jesus and accept Him as our Savior, joy invades our lives. That moment becomes a new beginning that amazes us and those who know us. When we want Him to be the Lord of our lives, we discover we want to consult Him about our decisions and choices. Sometimes we become impatient and wonder When, if ever, He will answer a particular prayer, or When He will meet a need, or When we will be better able to walk out our Christian convictions more consistently. God’s idea of ‘When’ often feels different from ours. But as the God of the Universe, He sees the future beyond what we can grasp. Jeremiah 29:11 tells us His plans for us are for good and not evil. His love for us is beyond the ability of humans to understand. He doesn’t mind when we talk to Him about the ‘When’ of His answers to us, He has patience with our lack of understanding as we struggle to trust Him. It is safe to trust Him with the who, what, why, when, where, and how of our lives. He knows how to write the perfect story with our lives. He knows When is the best time to reveal His answers to us. God help us learn to wait for our perfect ‘When’.
