            Ah, the mouth watering taste. Every time the menu contained shrimp and grits, I ordered it on my visit to Charleston, South Carolina. Cooked with a variety of recipes, the end result was the same—a yummy meal. And then there were the pralines. Pecans mixed into a sugary delight which provided precious little nutrition in proportion to the generous quantities of calories. Each geographic area boasts specialties that characterize that area. Don’t you love discovering and sampling them?

Every individual also carries characteristics that are unique and offer enjoyment to others. In a church family, we are surrounded with a menu of people whose personalities offer us delightful blessings. We are privileged to get to know one another and benefit from each one’s distinctive qualities. Some are experts at offering comfort. Some are gifted to make us laugh thus lifting our spirits. Others are generous with giving their time. Still others are anointed to pray the perfect prayer for a situation. Whether it is radiating love, undertaking difficult tasks, caring mightily about our well-being, we are blessed to enjoy a marvelous smorgasbord of God’s people to befriend and enjoy. God help us treasure the special way you made each one of us. Help us respect and value each personality we are privileged to know.
